CPHM EMS to host Donor Registration Drive for Local Teen Battling Leukemia
Clifton Park & Halfmoon Emergency Corps. (CPHM EMS), in partnership with Be The Match, will host “Clifton Park & Halfmoon Saves Lives”, a donor screening and registry with the hopes of finding a bone marrow match for Reese Johnson, a 14-year-old Ballston Spa resident who is battling Leukemia.
The event will take place on Sunday, March 15th from 1:00pm-4:00pm at CPHM EMS, 15 Crossing Blvd. Clifton Park, NY 12065.
“Clifton Park & Halfmoon Saves Lives” is a family event to raise funds and awareness featuring:
A donor screening and registry in partnership with Be The Match, a nonprofit organization that manages the largest and most diverse marrow registry in the world. The donor registration process consists of simply filling out a few medical forms and an effortless and painless mouth swab. Donors should be between the ages of 18-44, and the whole process takes only fifteen minutes.

- Learn critical, life saving CPR skills that could save a life

Reese Johnson, a strong-spirited 14-year-old Ballston Spa resident was recently diagnosis with Leukemia after overcoming a battle with Ewing’s Sarcoma, a rare but aggressive childhood cancer. She is currently undergoing chemotherapy, and the next step will be a bone marrow transplant.
