Our Community Outreach Program had a great year making our community healthier, safer, and better prepared! Despite the hurdles caused by COVID, our Community Outreach Team found ways to provide outstanding service and needed programs.

During 2021, CPHM’s nationally-certified Car Seat Safety Technicians installed 118 car seats at 16 events! Keeping our littlest passengers safe really is a big priority for us. We also expanded our popular Safe Sitter Babysitting Program this year and graduated 48 new certified Safe Sitters for our community!

The CPHM American Heart Association Training Center also played a vital role in our community this year. Since re-opening in March 2021, we issued 335 CPR, first aid, and advanced care-level certificates for our neighbors who needed to be certified in these life-saving skills.

The CPHM Community Outreach Program also continued its tradition of providing station tours for scouting groups and school groups. We visited with kids at summer camps and even went into some local classrooms to teach them about EMS and first aid. And it felt great to once again host a Community Blanket-Making Day at our station to help the Capital Region Toys for Tots Campaign!

Of course, we also had a lot of fun meeting our neighbors and friends at community events. We handed out thousands of pieces of candy between our towns’ Easter Hippity Hoppity and Halloween Trunk or Treat events. YUM! We also enjoyed seeing everyone at the Clifton Commons for the 4th of July celebration and at the Town of Halfmoon’s Summer Farmer’s Markets and Jingle Bell Bash. It was also our privilege to participate in the Town of Halfmoon’s Yellow Ribbon Day, various Memorial Day events, and three emotional September 11th services.

The biggest addition to our Community Outreach Program this year was our new COVID Vaccine Program. Our staff administered more than 1,300 COVID vaccines this year! We even made visits to homebound residents to give them their vaccination and keep them safe. CPHM also participated in 53 vaccination clinics in Saratoga County and delivered an additional 1,000 vaccinations in cooperation with the Town of Halfmoon.

CPHM couldn’t have done ANY of this work without support from our community. All of our Community Outreach Program activities are funded solely by donations from our Annual Fund Drive. Thanks for being a wonderful partner in 2021 - we can’t wait for 2022!
